Introduction
DogVita ("we," "us," or "our") provides premium dog-care services in New York City, including dog walking, home boarding, vet visit accompaniment, and pet transportation. We operate the website at dogvita.nyc, a client and caregiver mobile app, and internal tools used to schedule and deliver care.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit our website, submit a booking inquiry, communicate with us, or use DogVita as a client or caregiver after onboarding.
If you have questions about this policy or your information, contact us at contact@dogvita.nyc or (917) 575-5451.
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with DogVita.
- Website booking inquiries: When you submit the form at /book-a-walk, we collect your full name, email address, phone number, dog name(s), number of dogs, requested service, preferred date and time window, neighborhood or area, optional notes, your consent to be contacted, and the page URL where you submitted the request. This information is emailed to our team for follow-up and is not automatically stored in our service platform database.
- Website contact and browsing: Our hosting provider may collect standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited). If neighborhood autocomplete is enabled on the booking form, Google Places may receive the text you type to suggest locations.
- Client accounts and profiles: After onboarding, we collect account details such as your name, email address, phone number, password (stored in hashed form), profile photo, service address, building access notes, and payment-related identifiers managed through Stripe. We do not store full credit or debit card numbers on our servers.
- Pet and care information: We collect pet profiles you provide, which may include species, breed, age, medical and vaccination details, behavior notes, feeding instructions, medication information, and veterinarian contact details needed to deliver safe care.
- Service delivery data: During visits we may collect GPS route points, timestamps, visit events (such as bathroom breaks, water, or incidents), photos or videos of your pet, in-app chat messages, and caregiver notes shared with you as part of the service.
- Location information: Caregivers who use the DogVita app may share device location during active visits so clients can follow progress in real time. Emergency features may capture location coordinates when used. We collect location data only as needed to provide, document, and support the services you request.
- Communications and notifications: We collect information needed to send service updates, including email addresses, phone numbers for SMS when enabled, and mobile push notification tokens.
- Security and operations: We may maintain audit logs that include user identifiers, actions taken in our systems, timestamps, and IP addresses for security, troubleshooting, and compliance purposes.
